Search Engine Optimization Definitions

Search Engine Spider: Search engines like Google and Yahoo gather listings by crawling the web. These crawler-based listings are equivalent to a newspaper's editorial columns. When you do a search, you're supposed get back what the search engine thinks is most relevant to your query based on its ranking algorithm. That's the search engine equivalent of editorial judgment.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – The act of altering a web site so that it does well in the organic, crawler-based listings of search engines. In the past, SEO has also been used as a term for any type of search engine marketing activity, though now the term search engine marketing is more commonly used as a term representing paid click advertising.

Page Rank (PR)
Is a function of Google that measures the quality of a website on a scale of 0 to10. The theory is that high quality sites receive a higher Page Rank based on visitors and traffic your site receives. Page Rank is essentially a “vote”, by all the other pages on the internet.

Seniority Points – One of Google’s numerous ranking criteria is Seniority, the longer your domain name has been in existence the higher it will rank.  There is nothing that can be done to allow a site to score higher in the seniority category except time.  After 6 months to a year, this has far less relevance then the first few months of the sites existence.
 
Keyword Analysis - Clickaroo Websites takes the keywords provided by our cusotmers and runs multiple tests on them to see the volume of daily searches generated on major search engines.  We then produce a report with recommendations for the keywords we feel are most important for the site.  Additional keywords can be added to any package for $20per additional keyword. Note, if you intend to add additional keywords be sure you also add additional pages to be optimized as needed.

Title & Meta Tag development - Based on the keywords selected, we create the Meta Tag Titles and Descriptions for the predetermined number of pages of your site.

Optimization of your homepage for your top keywords -  Based on client approval of the “Title & Meta Tags” above, we insert those tags in the homepage of your site.  Additional pages can be optimized for $50 each

One time manual submission to major search engines
- Clickaroo Websites will manually submit your website to Google, Yahoo and other important search engines; a total of 15 search engines (our SEO experts will select 15 of the most important search engines for your site). The advantage to manual submission is search engines become aware of the existence of your site faster, and will send out spiders to crawl your site.  This allows your site to begin accruing seniority points almost immediately.

One time submission to major search directories
- Clickaroo Websites will manually submit your website to major search directories; a total of 5 search directories (our SEO experts will select 15 of the most important search engines for your site)., the difference between directories and search engines is that directory listings act as incoming links for your site, which improves the Page Rank of your site and helps in improving your overall rankings.

Add navigation to improve search engine spidering of deeper pages - Each site will be individually analyzed to decide the best method for adding/ improving navigation. Some sites will have a top/footer navigation added.  The basic idea is to make it easier for spiders to crawl your entire site.  The more navigation available to search engines the longer they will spend documenting your site. No Graphic Navigation.

Monthly review and analysis of campaign - This is a custom report that will be sent to you during the 1st full business week of every month, allowing you to track the progress of your SEO results.  Additional months of SEO reporting can be added for $20 per month or $90 for 6 months.

Submission to related portals -  Portals are online locations that users can access the internet and use the basic functionality of this page to effectively use the internet.  Yahoo.com is an example of an internet portal.  An end user can visit this site and use it as a “Home Page” from which to navigate the internet.  The more portals that list your website, the more likely you are to generate web traffic.  Portals and search engines can be one in the same as in the case of Yahoo.com

Submit to major national/international search engines - This includes additional national and international search engines.  Our SEO experts will analyse your site and manually submit your site to major search national/international search engines that could generate search results for your site. The advantage to this is that your site is more widely recognized and attracts traffic from additional inlets.

Strategic link building - Link Building is a Search Engine Optimization technique where a website owner attempts to build relevant, quality inbound links to their website with the intentions of increasing the website importance (Page Rank), and by this increasing the ranking with internet search engines.

Quarterly review of campaign - The quarterly review is completed by our SEO team.  They will conduct a detailed analysis of your website to determine the areas of strength and weakness.  The SEO team will then submit suggestions to the client for improving the websites’ SEO campaign.
